Why am I coming to see you?
Children come to see us for lots of different reasons.
Mostly its because someone they know well is worried about them. It could be a carer, parent, teacher or doctor.
Often its because they are worried, upset angry or confused and have asked to talk to someone about this.
Children and young people can have problems in different areas of their life. Sometimes their problems are worse at school or at home, or with friends and family.
There is a lot of research to show that talking to someone who understands can help people find a way through their problems. We have people here who are trained to do this.
Children that come to see us can sometimes be a little bit scared at first. But don't worry - once you've met us you'll see that we're friendly and here to help you.
Sometimes difficult life events can be hard to cope with, like someone you care about dying, your parents getting a divorce or someone in the family having a serious accident or illness. We can help you cope or get through difficult times.
It is also possible that someone in the family experiences problems and we can provide support and help with this.
We also work with children and their families when someone in the family has a learning difficulty or disability.
