Few national targets and performance indicators have been set for the outpatient mental health services that we provide. We meet all requirements that do apply to us.
We set our own rigorous internal standards in addition to those laid out by the Department of Health. Meeting these standards help us to ensure we offer high quality care.
Waiting times
We are aware that our patients are often in difficulty when they are referred to us. With this in mind we aim to see all patients as soon as possible following referral.
As a multi-disciplinary mental health trust, we are not obliged to meet national waiting list targets: however, we have historically used these national targets as a benchmark. Our target is to see patients for an initial assessment within 11 weeks of their first referral.
Booking targets
We meet the booking targets set out for us, and offer all patients a choice of time and date for their first appointment.
