Our clinical services are confidential: we will not repeat what you tell us to anyone else without your express consent.
In some of our services we are required to give feedback about your treatment to whoever referred you. If this wasn't your GP, we may be required to give feedback to your GP as well as your referrer, but this will be about your progress rather than what happened in sessions.
You can ask to see copies of any letters written about you - please discuss this with your therapist.
Very infrequently there are situations where we feel it is important to communicate information about you or your family to another agency. This will be when we consider that either you or someone else in your family is at serious risk of harm.
Under current law, we do not have to ask permission to do this, but our clinical view is that it is important to be open with everyone, and we would always do our best to let you know if this is going to happen.
