    Consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist Dr. Victoria Holt from our specialist gender identity development service spoke to BBC Newsbeat about the need for children with gender identity disorder (or gender dysphoria) to be taken seriously, and the need for GPs and specialist services to work together to ensure that patients receive the treatment they need for this disorder.

    Guardian journalist Viv Groskop wrote an article on the upcoming teenage gender identity story on Hollyoaks - the first show to address the issue of gender identity for this age group. Groskop explains that our Gender Identity Development Service sees up to 100 children a year, and that the likelihood of the patient electing for surgery varied dramatically according to what age they were referred.

     Dr. Richard Graham, Clinical Director of the adolescent department and lead psychiatrist for the Capio Nightingales' Young Person Technology Addiction Service, writes in the Government Gazette on the subject of technology addiction. Dr. Graham comments on how children and adolescents are particularly vulnerable to technology addiction as they are 'programmed' to seek new experiences and take risks, and tend to "lack awareness of how else life could be, or interest in what is healthy for them".
