As a foundation trust we are committed to providing high quality NHS services to patients free at the point of delivery. At the same time we do have more financial independence from central government. In particular we now have the ability to respond and invest quickly in new and existing services in relation to changing needs within our local communities. Our aim remains that access to high quality mental health services should be enjoyed by all.
We manage our finances well and have regularly received financial risk ratings of 3 or 4 from Monitor, the NHS foundation trust regulator. In the recent change to regulation by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) we were registered without condition, again an indicator of the quality of our services and management.
Recent investments
In response to patient feedback, we invested in a refurbishment of our main reception area. We relocated the Patient Advice and Liaison Service office (it is now adjacent to the waiting room), installed a computer terminal in the reception area which provides patients with access to the trust website, and are creating a new patient resource area with a range of patient information leaflets. There will also be improved catering facilities.
We have recently invested in a new communications team. The team will improve the quality of our information for patients, members and the public. The team will also focus on improving relationships with our communities.
We are currently developing an innovative website for children based in Camden to help them manage their emotional health. This will be linked to primary schools in Camden and will also provide helpful information for parents and teachers.
We are also actively looking at our ability to deliver training and education online in order to maximise access to the Trust's expertise and knowledge.
