Who this service is for
This service is for patients aged 21 years and over. These patients will have emotional problems such as:
- a situational crisis such as bereavement, divorce or unemployment
- feelings of depression and anxiety
- difficulties in maintaining relationships, or experiences of repetitive interpersonal difficulties
- severe character difficulties, including chaotic, self-destructive lifestyles
Why refer to this service
Our approach is always tailored to individual needs and we offer a range of treatments.
We have a multi-disciplinary staff group from child and adolescent psychiatry, psychology, family therapy, social work, psychotherapy and nursing. The teams work closely together to combine different skills and expertise.
Kinds of treatment offered
The department offers treatment for patients within individual or group settings, over a variety of time periods and frequencies of patient sessions.
Each contact starts with a consultation, the aim of which is to establish an understanding of the nature of an individual's difficulties, and to formulate with the individual an appropriate treatment plan.
