Who is our service for?
This service is for adults who are registered with a City & Hackney GP.
We were set up to help people who are struggling to cope using the services already available to them. We may be able to help people who:
- visit their GP often, but things don’t change or improve
- find their GP has not been able to diagnose any medical cause for their symptoms, or has given them lots of treatments, but they are still worried that something else is wrong
- have problems maintaining their relationships, or find relating to and interacting with other people difficult
- have been referred to other mental health or psychotherapy services but find it difficult to attend appointments
- have been discharged by other mental health or psychotherapy services and feel they need something else
- have been told they do not meet criteria for other mental health or psychotherapy services.
What we offer
We see people in GP surgeries and other community locations across City & Hackney. If you decide to meet with one of us, you won’t have to go to a hospital or mental health centre.
We can offer help in a variety of ways:
We can meet you with your GP or on your own, to think together about what is wrong and how we might be able to help.
If you decide that more meetings could be helpful, we can offer a variety of talking therapies.
Some people we see may not want to ‘have therapy’. You might like to meet less often, to think together about how to tackle the problems you are facing and how to work with other services that may be able to help.
How can I access the service?
Talk to your GP - providing they are based in City & Hackney they can refer you to this service.
