Specialist Registrar Training in Forensic Psychotherapy (ref. P4)
Develop forensic psychotherapy skills at suitable linked institutions, as well as being based at the Portman outpatient Clinic and the Three Bridges Medium Secure Unit, Ealing Hospital.
Who is this course for?
• Open to psychiatric trainees who have at least completed the MRCPsych examination and who may have previous experience at SHO level in either general psychiatry, forensic psychiatry or psychotherapy.
• This rotational training is approved by the Joint Committee on Higher Psychiatric Training at the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
• Designed to train for consultant psychotherapy posts in forensic psychiatry settings and leads to dual CCSTs in forensic psychiatry and psychotherapy.
• You need to be in personal analysis.
• Two posts are available in the North East Thames and North West Thames regions.
Aims
Receive advanced training in the application of psychoanalytic principles to a variety of clinical and related settings in the forensic psychiatry field.
